My mother just got home from church and told me that she has an autistic boy in her church and it brought back so many memories. She said he was "suppose to be" in the Christmas play. He was all over the place. We wanted so badly for our child to be "normal". We tried just treating him normal and we were constantly disappointed and frustrated. It wasn't until we let him lead that we really began to see progress.

Making Your Pain Your Power!

John Walsh had a lot of pain when his son was abducted and murdered. He decided to fight back.
Now we can see a lot of blessings that came from his pain.
I have a son that has overcome autism so dramatically that I was recently informed that he will be skipping the 8th grade which will bring him right on track. We never thought he would marry, get a job, live independently or drive a car. We now know that he will. He recently told me that when he drives he won't drive crazy like Noah(his 17 year old brother.)
His autism led me to start a foundation is Puerto Rico to raise funds for speech and occupational therapy, which led me to my public speaking. I trembled when I first took the microphone. I ended putting my notes aside and all the sudden the passion spilled out and I said ,"As I have this woman standing next to me translating for me, she is my voice. We have to be the voice for these children.
